NEWHA Weekly Awards: Week 15
Player of the Week
Brooklyn Schniederhan, Saint Anselm College
The senior forward was a major contributor to the Hawks' offensive success in their weekend sweep of Saint Michael's. She totaled two goals, including a power-play goal, and one assist, tallying three points on the weekend. She also posted a plus-four on-ice rating over the two games. Her three-point performance came in Friday's 5-0 win. The Helena Mont. native fired 13 shots over the two games to help the Hawks to back-to-back shutout victories over Saint Michael's.
Defensive Player of the Week
Brenna Young, Saint Anselm College
The junior defender played a key role in the Hawks' sweep of Saint Micheal's this weekend. She recorded a goal in Friday's 5-0 win and added an assist in Saturday's 4-0 win. Her on ice rating in each game was a plus-two, resulting in her plus-four on ice rating for the weekend. She recorded two shots and two blocks as the Hawks earned back-to-back shutout wins.
Goaltender of the Week
Jill Hertl, Franklin Pierce University
The senior goaltender backstopped the Ravens to a 2-0 shutout over Post on Friday. She made a total of 39 saves in the victory, tying the program's single-game shutout record. She posted a perfect 1.000 save percentage after her shutout performance this weekend. The Highland Park, Ill. native's performance helped the Ravens secure the weekend series sweep. She currently sits atop the NEWHA standings with a goals-against average of 1.94, save percentage of .946 and win percentage of .618.
Rookie of the Week
Addison Andre, Franklin Pierce University
The freshman forward helped the Ravens to a pair of conference wins over Post this weekend. She contributed two goals, one in each game, including the game-winning goal on Friday. She recorded nine shots and five blocks over the two-game series. The South St. Paul, Minn. Native was a plus-one on ice rating for the weekend and helped the Ravens secure the weekend sweep.
